A dwindling can supply for craft beers may spell trouble for craft brewers and craft beer lovers. There are three major can producers for beer – Rexam, Ball, and Crown Holdings. Earlier this year, Rexam and Ball announced plans to merge. In an article by Forbes Magazine, there is now some indication that can supplies are becoming more difficult for small craft breweries to obtain. According to Forbes a recent report from the Brewers Association notes Crown is curtailing can supplies to small craft brewers. Could a lack of can supplies and supplier competition cause a major problem for craft brewers?
