Green Flash Cellar 3 in Photographs
Name: Green Flash Cellar 3
Location: Poway, California
Date of Visit: May 2015
Brief Description: Green Flash Cellar 3 focuses on creating barrel-aged beers experimenting with funk, wild yeast, sour, and spirit induced flavor profiles. The goal is to create unique and flavorful beers with character and finesse that demonstrate the artistry of brewing and barrel aging.
Cellar 3 provides 12,000 square feet of space dedicated to the art of craft beer innovation through barrel-aging and wild yeast experimentation.
Open Wednesday through Sunday, the tasting room offers up to 30 unique Green Flash and Cellar 3 beers on draft.
For years, Green Flash brewers have experimented with barrel-aging and bottle conditioning Green Flash ales. Cellar 3 provides a dedicated facility for that purpose.
In some cases, large wooden vats (known as foeders) are used for aging craft beers.
In addition, individual barrels are also used for aging beers.
Bourbon, wine, tequila, and other barrels create unique flavors.
The result – artistic and delicious beers.
