PRESS RELEASE – Cask’s Not Dead Fest 2018
The Los Angeles County Brewers Guild is proud to partner with brewery member Yorkshire Square Brewery (Torrance) to bring you a unique new event to champion the storied art of proper cask ale. Cask’s Not Dead is our call-to-arms for the cask-passionate and our enticement of the cask-curious to come and celebrate the glory of the cask. Yorkshire Square has invited breweries from all over SoCal to send their champion beers for a one-of-a-kind opportunity: judgement for their merits as proper cask beer, the enjoyment of hundreds of cask fans, and all cellared and served by the crack team of cask commandos from Yorkshire Square.
The 2018 Cask’s Not Dead Fest is an invitational beer event featuring unlimited tastings of over 25 cask-conditioned ales from Southern California breweries. A highlight of the event is the fierce beer competition with all participating brewers vying for the ultimate titles of Lord of the Old School and The Magician of Weird; the former being for practitioners of fine art of traditional cask ale and the latter being awarded to wild fantasies in cask experimentation.
Event Takes Place November 17th
The VIP session from early entry for a 12:30 to 2pm session, gets first crack at the fresh beer, the live announcement of the competition winners (1pm), plus wicked glassware. The General Session from 2-6pm get the most tunes and some pretty decent glassware to boot. Food trucks will be on hand for the entire festival.
Stay tuned for updates and the list of participants!
