One of the best places in Stockholm, Sweden to discover and enjoy beer is Akkurat. An amazingly stocked bar offers hundreds of beers and whiskeys for the discerning drinker.

Akkurat opened in the fall of 1995 with owner Stene Isacsson at the helm. You’ll find this cafe at Hornsgatan 18 in Stockholm. This address is at the northern tip of the Södermalm district.

A World-Class Selection of Beers and Whiskeys

Akkurat offers 28 beers on draft, including up to 4 different cask-conditioned ales. In collaboration with some of Sweden’s best breweries, they also produce their own beers that you can only taste on site. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

More importantly, Akkurat maintains a cellar of over 500 different vintage beers. Some of these vintage beers have been in place for 20 years or longer. Some of these beers are not made anymore. And in some cases the breweries no longer exist for some of the beers.

For example, a large selection of lambic beers await your selection. Want a vintage Cantillon? This is the place! As a result, in December 2014, the High Council for Traditional Lambic Beers (a consortium of lambic brewers) honored Akkurat’s Stene Isacsson with its annual lambic award for his continued promotion of traditional lambic beers.

In addition to vintage beers, Akkurat also offers about 400 whiskeys, many of which are very rare. You’ll find everything from discontinued Scottish and Japanese distilleries to newly launched future classics.

The food menu changes slightly from day-to-day, but you’ll find an assortment of fresh food items. However, mussels are on the menu every day.
