Get out and celebrate National American Beer Day
National American Beer Day is today (October 27th)! So celebrate by getting out and visiting one (or more) of the 9000+ small and independent craft breweries in the U.S.
Raise your glass to the rich American beer-making history and those who redefine the beer world every day. In 2021, the craft brewing industry contributed $76.3 billion to the U.S. economy, providing 490,000 jobs. More than 170,000 of these jobs were provided directly at breweries and brewpubs, including serving staff at brewpubs.
As noted by Bart Watson, Chief Economist for the Brewers Association, “With a strong presence across the 50 states and the District of Columbia, even in a challenging year craft breweries are a powerful economic force at the local, state, and national level. As consumers continue to demand a wide range of high quality, full-flavored beers, small and independent craft brewers are meeting this growing demand with innovative offerings, creating high levels of economic value in the process.”
Most of us in the U.S. now live within 10 miles of a small and independent craft brewery. And the hallmark of craft brewers is innovation in making beer. You’ll find that craft brewers regularly interpret historic beer styles to create unique, flavorful twists and may even develop new styles that have no precedent.
Craft brewers are small brewers that excel and grow through independence, innovation, quality, community involvement and customer loyalty. And on this day, their dedication deserves to be rewarded.
So get out and visit one or more of your local, small and independent craft breweries. Toast the brewery staff. Quaff a delicious craft beer made from quality ingredients. Take a moment to appreciate the world of craft beer. And celebrate the continued success of our growing small and craft beer industry throughout the U.S. Cheers! 2
