2026 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting Brings Out Cask-Conditioned Beer Lovers
2026 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting
Braving cold winter temperatures, a lively crowd of real ale enthusiasts, brewers, and overall beer lovers attended the 19th Annual Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting event yesterday. Atlanta’s Cask Ale Tasting (ACAT) is a major craft‑beer event that features over 50 rare, cask‑conditioned ales and lagers, food discounts, judging panels, and community fundraising for the Atlanta Humane Society.
It’s never too cold for great beer!
Organized by beer and beer travel expert Owen Ogletree and hosted by The Bold Monk Brewing Company, ACAT featured a wide range of naturally carbonated, unfiltered, live‑yeast beers served at cellar temperature. The Bold Monk’s unique setting—a blend of brewery, restaurant, library, and coffeehouse—created a warm, European‑inspired backdrop for exploring these rare and flavorful beers. Commendations to J.R. Roberts, head of Bold Monk Brewing, for his support and participation.
Prior to the event, a morning panel of beer judges evaluated and rated all of the beers served to award best of show. Craft beer pioneer Pete Slosberg, founder of Pete’s Wicked Ales, participated in the judging.
The entire event took place indoors to keep everyone warm and safe. English-style ales, wild ales, IPAs, fruited beers, wood‑aged brews, imperial stouts, lagers, and other styles were served by volunteers. Overall, it was a great day for cask-conditioned beer lovers while also delivering the event’s community‑driven spirit of benefiting the Atlanta Humane Society.
