Next time you are in Solana Beach, stop by Culture Brewing Company and have a beer or two. This small brewery offers lots of charm and some solid brews. Located in the Cedros District, the brewery is easy to access. You can even ride the train to get there.

Culture Brewing Company's Solana Beach location is on 111 South Cedros Avenue, Suite 200.

Started by John Niedernhofer, Steve Ragan and Dennis Williams, Culture Brewing Company opened in February 2013. The Solana Beach location houses both the brewery and a tasting room. In November 2014, Culture Brewing also opened a satellite tasting room in Ocean Beach (which I have not visited).

The tasting room offers excellent beers but is not licensed to include seating. My wife and I carry folding chairs in our car trunk at all times for exactly this type of need.

There may be no seating due to ordinances but there are lots of places to set down your beer.
Some of my beer samples.

You will find beautiful works of art hanging on the walls and the ceiling.

Indoor and outdoor drinking areas provide lots of space for socializing and relaxation.

Of the beers I tried, my two favorites were the Mosaic IPA and the Oaked Imperial Stout. The Mosaic IPA presented lots of citrus and herbal aromas and flavors with a moderate bitter finish. The Oaked Imperial Stout exuded with earthy coffee and dark chocolate complemented with underlying caramel . The stout definitely tasted lighter than its 10% ABV.

Overall I think you’ll find Culture Brewing Company a fun place to spend an hour or two with some brews.

A big thanks to my talented wife Patricia who took all the photographs!
