Craft beer and musical fun flowed at Saturday’s grooviest Cinco de Mayo celebration – “Loco Brews, Loco Grooves”. Held at House of Blues Anaheim, the fiesta featured some of the area’s finest local breweries, hottest local bands, and tastiest culinary creations from Executive Chef Jeremy Cantwell.

Fiesta lovers turned out in force for “Loco Brews, Loco Grooves”

Twenty-five breweries served craft beer samples. Every brewery offered two different tasty beer selections. One of my favorites was the Swami’s IPA by Pizza Port Brewing Company. I’ve had this beer several times and absolutely love it.

Participating Breweries
Ace Cider, Ballast Point Brewing, Barley Forge Brewing Co., Black Plague Brewing, Bootleggers Brewery, Chapman Crafted Beer, Cismontane Brewing Co., Coronado Brewing Company, Evans Brewing Co., Fall Brewing, Firestone, Four Sons Brewing, Golden Road Brewing, Green Flash, Gunwhale Ales, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, Latitude 33 Brewing, Left Coast Brewing Co., Modern Times Beer, Pizza Port Brewing Company, Saint Archer Brewing Company, Stereo Brewing, Stone Brewing, Towne Park Brew Co., Unsung Brewing Co.
Which way to the beer? Just follow the signs.

Twenty local bands, performing in 4 different entertainment spaces, delivered high-energy entertainment. The acoustical architecture at House of Blues Anaheim is fantastic. None of the performances interfered with one another while taking place simultaneously.

Musical genres ranged from Rap to Classic Rock ‘n Roll to Country.

Food stations positioned throughout the event site served tamales, enchiladas, rice pudding and other fare. All of the food looked delicious.

“Loco Brews, Loco Grooves” served Cinco de Mayo-inspired dishes.

All of the action was held inside the House of Blues. Hence, the family friendly event took place in an air-conditioned environment that also provided lots of seating.

All in all, this was a LOCO fun event and a great way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

A big THANK YOU to The Ace Agency for providing me the opportunity to attend and review House of Blues Anaheim’s “Loco Brews, Loco Grooves”!
Also, thank you to Pinup Pat for all of the superb photographs.

  1. Hi Ron,
I went to see a friend who is lead singer for Devil Season. I met you at Sabroso craft beer fest, I write for OCWEEKLY. I didn’t go to write a review but boy did I have a fun time. It was my first time at this venue and they did a fantastic job organizing such a big event. The combination of craft beer, tacos and music is a winning recipe for success!
