Take an armchair visit to a unique brewery, pub or other intoxicating venue that has a story you’ll love.

Artifex Brewing Company:

Today’s #stayhome tour takes place in my hometown. Started by co-owners Tom Cordato, Nicholas Cordato, and Johnny Johur, Artifex Brewing Company opened in 2014 in the beautiful coastal town of San Clemente, CA.

Since opening, Artifex has developed a solid base of loyal craft beer loving fans. In addition, they have won medals at prestigious beer competitions such as the San Diego International Beer Festival, Great American Beer Festival, and World Beer Cup.

Most brewers can go their entire lives without winning a medal from either of the world’s most prestigious beer competitions – the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) and the World Beer Cup (WBC). But within three years of opening Artifex Brewing Company Head Brewer and Co-Owner, Johnny Johur had won medals from both events.

When asked his brewing background, Johur said: “I was fortunate enough to get my start at Pizza Port (specifically Solana Beach) learning from some of the most knowledgeable brewers around. After a few years with the Port crew I took a spot with Mother Earth Brewing Co and spent 2 years out in Vista absorbing as much as possible about production brewing. I feel lucky to have spent time at both a small-scale brewing facility as well as a production brewing facility. Both experiences helped to create and shape Artifex Brewing Company.”
