Westmalle Extra

Releases and Events - October 27thReleases and Events – October 27th

This beer release actually happened a little over a month ago, but you may have missed it. Brouwerij der Trappist van Westmalle announced that its limited-release Westmalle Extra will be available in the U.S. for the first time. Extra joins the ranks of Westmalle Dubbel and Tripel.  Though it may have taken a couple centuries to get here, this Belgian ale is most definitely the ‘Beer of the Monks’. Westmalle Extra exudes a brilliant golden color, while on the nose a brisk forward maltiness.  A fairly light body hints of fruit allowing for a sessionable Belgian Trappist ale that is sure to be enjoyed. At 4.8% ABV, this beer can be enjoyed without spoiling the rest of your day.
