Three breweries. Three countries. One Common Ground.

Common Ground

Bay Area, CA / Calgary, AB / Zopopan, MX — In celebration of the unifying spirit of soccer, Headlands Brewing (United States), Cabin Brewing Company (Canada), and Rey Árbol Beer Co. (Mexico) are proud to announce the release of Common Ground West Coast Mexican Lager, a special tri-nation collaboration beer created to honor the pride, energy, and sense of connection that the World Cup inspires across borders.

Rooted in the idea that great beer and world football both have the power to bring people together, Common Ground was named to reflect the heart of the collaboration: a belief that even across different countries, cultures, and perspectives, there is always a place where people can meet, celebrate, and connect. Common Ground will be released in late May 2026.

Brewed as a dry-hopped Mexican lager, Common Ground West Coast Mexican Lager is crafted to capture both refreshment and character—something familiar, crisp, and highly drinkable, while still offering a modern expression worthy of the occasion. More than a collaboration between breweries, it is a celebration of hospitality, culture, and the moments of togetherness that make this summer’s tournament so meaningful.

Headlands Brewing will be hosting World Cup watch parties at all four of its venues throughout the tournament, creating welcoming spaces for supporters, beer lovers, and local communities to gather and take part in one of the world’s great shared traditions.

“Common Ground is about more than beer,” said Jonathan A. Rosales, Headlands’ Marketing Manager. “It’s about creating space for people to come together. The World Cup is one of those rare moments where so many people, from so many different backgrounds, are all tapped into the same feeling. We wanted to make something that reflects that energy; something welcoming, celebratory, and grounded in the idea that what connects us will always matter more than what separates us.”

“Common Ground is a reminder that no matter where we come from, we can always meet through craft, passion, and a great beer,” said Alejandro Gomez Avalos, Founder of Rey Árbol. “Just like the game, this collaboration is about coming together—different places, same passion, meeting on common ground.”

“From Mexico, Canada, and the USA, we’ve come together to craft more than just a beer – we’ve brewed a celebration of unity, passion, and the spirit of the World Cup.” said Jonas Hurtig Co-Founder and Head Brewer at Cabin Brewing Company. “It embodies a fusion of flavours, cultures, and a shared love of the game of football. Different flags, common ground.”

With the 2026 World Cup set to bring people together across North America and beyond, Common Ground West Coast Mexican Lager offers an invitation to raise a glass to shared experience, shared passion, and the communities that form when people come together in celebration.
